Essential Requirements
To become part of BabelPhone's team of collaborators it is essential to cover all the requirements described below. Because of the large number of candidates applying, we are obliged to reject anyone who does not fulfil the necessary requirements.
- Candidates must be natives of the language they work with and have an excellent command of the Spanish and or Catalan languages. No exception is made when applying this requirement, even when considering the language and its variants. That is to say, for example, a translator of Brazilian origin will never translate to European Portuguese or the reverse. This applies also to British and American English.
- BA Degree in Translation and/ or Interpreting + 3 years professional experience.
- BA Degree in Philology + 5 years professional experience.
- To have at hand the certificate(s) proving completion of studies and, in the case of diplomas gained outside of Spain, the official approval of the Ministry of Education and Science.
- Be registered as free-lance by Social Security in order to be able to issue invoices in your own name.
- Be able to work with TAO programmes such as Trados, Déjà vu, etc.
